Performance

I’ve been considering purchasing a serious road bike for a long time, and have yet to being my conversion to the religion of road riding.  Having grown up in northeastern Pennsylvania, surrounded by gnarly singletrack and downhill mountain bike trails, I always scoffed at the idea of skinny tires, not to mention shaving my legs and wearing spandex.  Now that I live in the city, I find that more and more of my friends are joining road cycling groups, and having a blast despite the spandex.  I like the idea of weekly group rides and getting in shape, but I still find it hard to believe the claims that “my girlfriend can’t get enough of my smooth silky legs”.   If I can find a group that incorporates brunch and a few bloody marys into the weekly routine, and will let my hairy legs slide, I might have to start shopping for a bike, and if I’m drunk enough, maybe even spandex.
